Registry for Post-Pandemic Travel Experiences

We’re so appreciative of the gifts folks are willing to share with us. In lieu of material presents, we invite guests to contribute to our upcoming summer adventures with Solenn and the family. More details are below. Thank you so much!

This summer is jam-packed with adventure! Before Solenn’s next birthday (when we have to start buying 3 seats) we want to share this baby with her ancestral homelands and our family abroad. We’ll also spend some time in Montana and Yellowstone National Park.

The UK and Ireland Leg – We will start off visiting family and friends in London (the birthplace of Michael’s paternal grandfather and grandmother) and make our way to Shakespeare’s birthplace, then Oxford where Christina’s brother studied on exchange. We’ll see Michael’s birthplace in Chester, UK, before getting some Beatles memorabilia in Liverpool. From there, we head north to where Solenn’s middle name is derived. We will spend some time in Glasgow (Michael’s maternal grandmothers’ birthplace) and Edinburgh, Scotland, while making our way to the origins of clan Robertson and Reid in Perthshire near the river Tay just before heading further north into the highlands.

After Scotland, we will head back south and take the ferry to the Ilse of Man to visit Michael’s aunt, uncle, and cousins. We intend to finish our trip with visits to Northern Ireland (more cousins) and Ireland to have a pint of Guinness.

The North American Leg – After the UK and Ireland, we will bring Solenn to Buffalo, NY (where Michael spent his high school and University years). Here both Solenn and Christina will meet some of Michael’s best and oldest friends, and eat from the finest of culinary establishments to fry chicken wings and put beef on Kimmelwick rolls.

Finally, we’ll wrap up in Helena, Montana. Christina has spent summers there participating in and teaching at an NEH seminar at Carroll College for the past five years and has developed a deep fondness for the area. We’re excited to experience this special place as a family, including a week living in an RV in Yellowstone National Park.
